Krueger, Geraldine (Marriage - 29 May
1954)
Miss Geraldine Krueger, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Krueger, Route 1, Curtiss, and Milford Leffel, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Leffel, Colby, exchanged marriage vows in a
double ring ceremony, Saturday, May 29. at the Evangelical Lutheran
church, at Curtiss. The Rev. M. F. Egge read the service at 2:00
o’clock.
The bride, who was given in marriage by
her father, wore a waltz length gown of white nylon over satin.
Lace was used in inserts in the skirt and the bolero of the
strapless bodice, and her long, white mitts. The finger-tip veil
fell from a pearl crown. She wore a gold cross and chain, a gift
from her god parents, and carried a bouquet of white carnations and
red roses with a shower of white streamers and rose buds.
Attending the bride was her sister, Miss
Arlene Krueger, of Milwaukee, as maid of honor. Another sister,
Miss Patricia Krueger, Curtiss, and a sister of the groom, Miss
Bernadine Leffel, of Michigan, were bridesmaids. They all wore
identical light blue frocks of nylon lace over taffeta with boleros
and matching head dresses. The maid of honor carried a bouquet of
pink and white carnations while the bridesmaids’ were of
yellow, pink, and white carnations.
Miss Pamela Krueger, three year old
sister of the bride, was flower girl. Her dress was also waltz
length and white nylon lace over satin. Pink rose buds and white
carnations were used for her head piece and for the nosegay bouquet
she carried.
Keith Weller, of Abbotsford, nephew of
the bride, carried the rings on a satin pillow.
Leo Leffel, of Colby, was his
brother’s best man, and Frederick Krueger, Curtiss, and
Melvin Leffel, of Colby, brothers of the bridal couple, were
ushers.
Both mothers wore navy blue ensembles
accented by a corsage of red roses and white carnations.
Dinner was served in the church hall to
200 guests and a reception was held at the home of the
bride’s parents. In the evening a wedding dance was held at
Memorial hall, Dorchester.
Guests at the wedding were from Rice
Lake, Baraboo, Marshfield, Milwaukee, Abbotsford, Colby,
Dorchester, Minnesota and Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Leffel are at home on a farm near Edgar.
